Anjali Kausar has been a Bay Area resident for over 25 years and a Saratoga resident for over 15 years. A Stanford University graduate with a master’s degree in Policy, Organization & Leadership Studies, she spent fifteen years in the healthcare industry, where she held various positions such as Director of Physician Services at O’Connor Hospital and managing director for a local pathology laboratory. For almost ten years she has served on the Cupertino Union School District Board of Education. In 2015, she was recognized by Silicon Valley Business Journal as a Women of Influence. This year she was awarded the Leadership in Business Award for California Assembly District 28 and is currently the CEO of the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce.
Anjali is an active member of her community where her three children attended local public schools. She is committed to quality education and opportunities for all children. Anjali has been a member of the Board of Education for the Cupertino Union School District since 2009 and has served as the district board president, vice president, and clerk. She has held various leadership roles in both the local and state educational community including President of the Asian Pacific Islander School Board Members Association and Treasurer of the Santa Clara County School Boards Association. She believes strongly in access to quality education and opportunities for all children.
She has vigorously campaigned for bond and parcel taxes to help our elementary and high schools. Anjali is also the founder of SkoolCare, a nonprofit organization that provides free or affordable dental care to children on school campuses in underserved areas of Silicon Valley.
She has also served on and has led a number of committees including local foundations, the Rotary Club, PTA, Safe Routes to School, neighborhood watch group and others.
